Stretching enhances our muscle flexibility. For example, when you reach down to touch your toes, you’re stretching the hamstrings at the back of your thighs.

A study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine and Science in August 2024 found that reduced flexibility in middle-aged individuals is linked to a higher mortality rate. This highlights yet another compelling reason to incorporate stretching into your daily routine!

Friday Stretch Session: 6 Minutes

For this session you will need:

• A mat

• 2 x folded towels

• A yoga block, low or medium step

2. Adductor stretch

3. Seated spine twist
